Monkey Pox outbreak:

In light of the current monkeypox outbreak, Reliable Hands Homecare is taking proactive steps to address a number of business concerns. First and foremost, we want to maintain a safe workplace and encourage and/or adopt practices protecting the health of employees, customers, visitors or others. We also want to ensure the continuity of business operations during this public health emergency.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

Monkeypox is spread through:

Direct contact with an infectious rash, scabs or body fluids.

Respiratory secretions during prolonged, face-to-face contact or during intimate physical contact.

Touching objects or fabrics (such as clothing or linens) that previously touched the rash or body fluids of someone with monkeypox.

Being scratched or bitten by an animal infected with the virus.

Monkeypox can be acquired by all people, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.

Monkeypox causes a distinct rash and other symptoms, such as fever, headache, swollen lymph nodes and fatigue.

Monkeypox can spread from the time symptoms start until the rash has fully healed and a fresh layer of skin has formed. This can take several weeks.

We ask all employees/clients to cooperate in taking steps to reduce the likelihood of transmission of monkeypox in the workplace. Employees are reminded of the following:

Stay home when you are sick.

Avoid people who are sick with monkeypox symptoms.

Wash your hands frequently or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

Clean frequently touched surfaces.

Get vaccinated if recommended by your healthcare provider.

Clients/POAs/Family members please have your insurance provider supply you with gloves for your protection.
